I recently converted a setup to use InRoads Survey in place of GEOPAK Survey. The linking codes can be almost identical to the default Civil 3D linking codes.īTW, VDOT's GEOPAK/Survey setup is seriously flawed in its implementation. They also have a survey module that create 3D graphics and surfaces from standard data collector raw files or various ASCII files. They still use the settings stored in native "preference files" which are external files that contained the styles, descriptor key and figure prefix equivalents and various command settings. The tools of these versions work in a manner that is very similar to Civil 3D - surfaces are native DGN Elements, alignments and cogo points are built using native elements but are recognized as alignments and cogo points. A few months ago, they released new versions that use a new technology - Open Roads. Since then, they have been adding tools to each that are identical in all versions, but still work with the various native civil application. Bentley acquired GEOPAK, InRoads and MX over a few year period, a number of years ago.
